Feelings are design, not defect
The books do not try to erase big feelings. They teach that emotions are part of being human—and that we can still respond in God-honoring ways.

Why these books exist
Lorraine Schauer, LMSW, is a social worker, wife, mother, Sunday School teacher, sports mom, and community volunteer. For more than 20 years, she has worked with children, adults, and families through some of life’s difficult moments.
Little People, Big Feelings grew from something Lorraine believes deeply: all feelings are okay, but God calls us to be responsible for what we do with them.
Her books combine practical emotional intelligence skills with Scripture to help children understand what they are feeling, talk about it with safe adults, and learn to make choices grounded in God’s Word.
And sometimes the simplest ideas come straight from being a mom. Lunchbox Love Notes began when Lorraine tucked Bible verses into her own daughter’s lunchbox during a difficult start to the school year. When another child wanted verses too, a simple family practice grew into something she could share with other families.
Helping children understand, express, and grow with God’s love.

Look at the picture. Talk. Pray. Practice a verse. Caregivers are invited in, not lectured from the sidelines.
Memory cards, lunchbox notes, coloring verses, and journal prompts help children hide God’s Word in their hearts.
